§ Mr. Harveyasked the Secretary of State for the Colonies how many trained biologists are at present engaged in the service of his Department; and what steps are being taken to increase their number.
§ Colonel StanleyI will have a statement prepared showing the numbers of such officers serving in the Medical, Veterinary, Agricultural and other Departments of all the Colonial Governments, and send it to the hon. Member. With regard to the last part of the Question, Colonial Governments will certainly need to employ considerably increased numbers of biologists, and all possible steps will be taken, by the provision of scholarships and other means, to stimulate the flow of candidates.
