§ Sir J. AndersonApart from the customary short-term commercial credits no financial assistance was given by this country to Germany after 1931. Before that date financial assistance was given through participation in the international Dawes and Young Loans and through the Potash Loans. In addition loans to a number of municipalities and states were floated in London, all of which loans were issued between 1923 and 1928. The volume of short-term banking credit which was outstanding in1931 was frozen under the Standstill Agreement concluded in that year.
