SomervellThe total number of experiments performed during the year 1943 was 1,170,412, a large number of which were simple inoculations and similar proceedings, performed either on behalf of official bodies with a view to preservation of the public health, or directly for the diagnosis and treatment of disease in man or animals. I am not yet in a position to state the figure for 1944.
