§ Lieut.-Commander Hutchisonasked the Secretary of State for War whether he is now in a position to make a further statement on the case of No. 3061355 Lance-Corporal John Norris, 1st Battalion the Royal Scots, who disappeared in India under mysterious circumstances on 1st October, 1943.
§ Sir J. GriggI much regret that all the necessary information in this case has not yet been received from India and until it arrives it is not possible to reach a final decision. G.H.Q., India have been asked to expedite their report. The unit concerned is operationally employed under S.E.A.C. and my hon. and gallant Friend will appreciate that owing to its moves delay was inevitable in dealing with this case.
