§ Sir H. Williamsasked the Minister of Information whether he will now disband the Information Committees and their staffs which were created to deal with the situation which might arise in the event of an invasion of the United Kingdom.
§ Mr. BrackenNo, Sir. These committees have no staffs and were not set up specially to deal with invasion conditions. They are not all of equal value, but most of them are useful in helping the Ministry to arrange for meetings, film displays, exhibitions and other local publicity work. I see no reason why the Ministry should deprive itself of this valuable assistance, which is voluntarily offered and is still required.
