§ Sir J. AndersonI have read this memorandum on post-war matters affecting the North-East Coast with interest. The financial recommendations made in 55W it have to be considered in relation to the Government's policy for the Development Areas in general, as set out in Chapter III of the White Paper on Employment Policy (Cmd. 6527). I am not in a position to make any announcement on the subject in advance of the proposals which are now being worked out in consultation between my right hon. Friend, the President of the Board of Trade, and myself.
