§ Sir R. Gowerasked the Financial Secretary to the Treasury whether he will arrange for officers of his Department to conduct an inspection of the work of the Department of Overseas Trade with a view to ascertaining which of the work performed within that Department conforms to the definition of administrative work as laid down by the National Whitley Council Reorganisation Committee.
§ Mr. PeakeI have no evidence that this definition of administrative work is not understood in the Department of Overseas Trade, and I see no necessity for a Treasury inspection such as my hon. Friend suggests.
