HC Deb 21 February 1945 vol 408 c812W
Mr. W. J. Brown

asked the Secretary of State for Air what are the functions of the Directorate of Post-Hostility Planning; whether this directorate has authority to review directorates or establishments of the Air Ministry in which civilian staffs are employed; and what arrangements have been made to provide for consultation with the staff associations and trade unions representing such staff during the course of the investigations conducted by this directorate.

Sir A. Sinclair

The function of the Director of Post-Hostilities Plans is to study plans for the enforcement of the surrender of enemy Powers and to study post-war strategic issues, with particular reference to air defence. He has no authority to review directorates or establishments of the Air Ministry. The last part of the Question does not therefore arise.
