HC Deb 21 February 1945 vol 408 c800W
Mr. Grenfell

asked the Secretary of State for the Colonies whether his attention has been drawn to the holding up by the Palestine censorship of cables to and from Palestine containing nothing connected with military matters; whether he is aware that this has resulted in delaying and denying legal assistance to persons concerned; and whether he will take steps to ensure that cables to and from Palestine are not subjected to delay or deletion by the Palestine censorship for political objects.

Colonel Stanley

My hon. Friend is no doubt referring to a particular case, to which my attention has already been drawn. The delay in this case was due to an unfortunate oversight, which I hope will not recur. The Government of Palestine has expressed regret for any inconvenience caused by it.
