HC Deb 20 February 1945 vol 408 cc641-2W
Mr. Rhys Davies

asked the Minister of Supply whether arrangements have been made for an adequate supply of stationery at a controlled price to be available well in advance to all candidates for both the General Election and the coming municipal elections.

Mr. Peat

Arrangements are being made to secure that paper shall be available to all candidates for the General Election on an appropriate scale. Consideration will also be given to any steps necessary in the case of municipal elections. I am informed by my right hon. Friend the President of the Board of Trade that the price of stationery and other paper goods for domestic consumption is subject to the provisions of the Prices of Goods Act, 1939.
