HC Deb 20 February 1945 vol 408 cc635-6W
Mr. Thorne

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department if he can give any information about the 10,000 eggs that were stolen from Brixton Road, London, on Thursday, 14th February; and if the police have arrested the people who stole the eggs.

Mr. H. Morrison

A lorry loaded with 116 cases, each containing thirty dozen eggs, was stolen from premises on the Brixton road during the night of 14th-15th February. The lorry was found empty and abandoned on the afternoon of 15th February. No arrests have yet been made, but the police—who are pursuing their inquiries—have succeeded in recovering 109 of the 116 cases of eggs.
