§ Sir L. Lyleasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer if, as a result of exchange of views between His Majesty's Government and the United State Government, the latter has now accepted the official British interpretation of the Bretton Woods Final Act, according to which its acceptance would only commit His Majesty's Government to consultation with the fund and would not necessitate a legal stabilisation of sterling.
§ Sir J. AndersonI would refer my hon. Friend to the reply given to the hon. Member for Southampton (Mr. Craven-Ellis) on 17th October, 1944. I am not aware that any question of interpretation arises in this connection.
