HC Deb 14 February 1945 vol 408 c240W
Captain Prescott

asked the Prime Minister whether, in view of the shortage of labour in the building trade and the urgent necessity of repairing and building houses, German prisoners of war will be retained in the United Kingdom for such period after the conclusion of hostilities as is in the national interest in order that they may participate in this work.

Mr. Attlee

I am unable to make any statement on this matter at the present time.
