§ Brigadier Raynerasked the Minister of Information what steps were taker, by his Department to ensure an immediate reply to the allegations in Izvestia, that the Wehrmacht is not being disbanded in the British zone of Germany; and whether, in view of the fact that this claim was given prominence in the French Press of 5th December, without any reference to the British case, he will ensure that more adequate arrangements are made to deal immediately with incidents of this kind.
§ Mr. J. HyndIt is not in accordance with practice for publicity to be given to discussions in the Four-Power Control Council in Germany except in the form of an agreed official communique. When it became known, however, that publicity had been given in the Russian Press to the allegations referred to in the question, the facts were at once made available to the Press in this country and overseas.
