§ Major Digbyasked the Minister of National Insurance whether he has considered the opinion of dentists in the South that the upward revision of prices for dental benefit should extend to dentures, if satisfactory dentures are to be provided; that this dispute is making it impossible for many members of friendly societies to obtain dentures, thus causing hardship; and what steps he is taking to see that an early settlement is reached.
§ Mr. J. GriffithsI am aware that incertain areas insured persons have experienced difficulty in securing dentures owing to the refusal of individual dentists to undertake the work on the basis of the scale of fees prescribed under the Dental Benefit Regulations. I am in consultation with my right hon. Friend the Minister of Health, as to steps to be taken for securing the early restoration of satisfactory dental services to insured persons in the areas concerned.
