§ Brigadier Lowasked the Secretary of State for War whether, in the case of officers of Groups 22, 23 and 24, stationed at home and surplus to establishment and without useful employment, it is his policy to give them leave or to keep them at their depots doing nothing.
§ Mr. LawsonOfficers in these groups who are not suitable or eligible for overseas have been posted to depots, so that they may be available for any kind of work which may be required. I cannot agree that they are doing nothing, or that those who are not always fully employed should be sent on leave. To do so would amount to discrimination in their favour against other officers and soldiers.
