§ Mr. LawsonI am not sure what point the hon. and learned Member has in mind. The decision to extend the free issue of clothing to temporary officers leaving the Service after 8th May, 1945, was given several months ago. It was recently decided to extend this concession to those who ceased to draw pay on or after 16th October, 1944, when the present civilian outfit first became issuable to other ranks. I announced this on nth December in reply to a Question by my hon. and gallant Friend the Member for Brixton (Lieut.-Colonel Lipton). Regular officers are not eligible for a free civilian outfit, but it has been decided that they may obtain the outfit on repayment, if they ceased to draw pay on or after 16th October, 1944.
