§ Mr. P. Freemanasked the Minister of Fuel and Power what representations he has received concerning reforms in the conditions and care of horses and ponies used below ground in mines, including the statutory provision of a single working shift for all horses and ponies in every 24 hours; and whether he is giving consideration to these suggestions in relation to forthcoming legislation dealing with the mines, or by administrative action in the way of order or regulation in the near future.
§ Mr. ShinwellI have recently received from one of the animal protection societies a number of suggestions for revision of the existing regulations, and I am considering these suggestions in consultation with my Inspectors.
