§ Mr. Awberyasked the Under-Secretary of State for Air if he is aware that aircrews who have completed their training in this country frequently find that they are redundant and are given indefinite leave while, at the same time, airmen in the Far East have their releases held up because there are no experienced men to replace them; and if he will arrange for the newly-trained men to release those who have been overseas for several years.
§ Mr. StracheyWe have given orders that aircrew who are not at present required for flying, but who are mostly fit for service anywhere and who are in late release groups, must be reallocated to other duties so as to relieve airmen overseas and to help even out the release rate between the various trades. Twenty-three thousand of these aircrew have been reallocated up to 1st December. We expect there will be many more in the first half of 1946.
