HC Deb 12 December 1945 vol 417 cc563-4W
Mr. Osborne

asked the Under-Secretary of State for Air if he will consider making electricity available to the villages of North and South Reston, Castle Carlton, and Withern, from the electric power carefully planned to combine efficiency with the greatest possible economy in man power and other resources. We have all establishments, throughout the Service, constantly under review, as I stated in my reply of 14th November to my hon. and gallant Friend the Member for Stroad (Flight-Lieutenant Parkin). I said then—as I have on other occasions to the House—that in present circumstances particular airmen may be underemployed for short periods. It would be neither practicable nor fair to other airmen to bring such men home from overseas for special leave. The release of all photographers has, how ever, been accelerated; they reach groups 27 and 28 in January.
