HC Deb 12 December 1945 vol 417 c583W
Sir A. Gridley

asked the Minister of Supply and of Aircraft Production whether he will give instructions for the abandonment forthwith of the break clause in Government orders placed with contracting firms, as its object was to meet the uncertainty of the date of the termination of the war.

Mr. Woodburn

The extent to which break clauses are to be included in future contracts is at present under consideration, but I cannot hold out prospects to the hon. Member of their general abandonment as they serve a wider purpose than that stated in the Question.
