§ Mr. Sorensenasked the Secretary of State for the Colonies whether he is satisfied with the conduct and work of the Fiji Economic Warfare Department; if the Department and its personnel have now been disbanded; and to what extent trade with this country has improved.
§ Mr. George HallThe Governor of Fiji informs me that he is quite satisfied with the work of this organisation. He states that it has not been disbanded but that its staff has recently been much reduced. Trade with the United Kingdom has not yet shown actual improvement but importers are booking orders.
