asked the First Lord of the Admiralty whether it is intended to maintain for the future all Scottish dock yards now in commission.

No, Sir. Certain repair bases on the West Coast of Scotland are now being closed down. It is also in tended to close the dockyard at Lyness. The future of Rosyth is bound up with the strength, composition and disposition of the postwar Fleet. These matters are now under examination.
