asked the Minister of Labour the number of unemployed, male and female, respectively, at each of the following labour exchanges: Ferndale, Porth, Treorchy and Tonypandy on 1st February, 1945, and the latest available date.

The following table shows the numbers of insured persons aged 14 years and over registered as unemployed at the Ferndale, Porth, Treorchy and Tonypandy employment exchanges at 15th January, 1945, the date nearest to 1st February for which statistics are available, and at 15th October:

The figures exclude insured men on the registers classified as unsuitable for ordinary industrial employment. At 15th January the number were as follows: Ferndale 62, Porth 41, Treorchy 82, Tonypandy 73. At 15th October, the corresponding figures were 52, 40, 91 and59.
