§ Mr. G. Thomasasked the Secretary of State for War if he is aware of the strong feeling amongst soldiers at Catterick camp because of the difference in Christmas leave between them and members of the R.A.F.; and what steps are to be taken to remedy the grievance.

§ Dr. Littleasked the Secretary of State for War what particular steps he has taken to enable members of H.M. Forces from Northern Ireland to spend their Christmas holidays at home; and whether the leave given will be free from all restrictions on the usual days granted every month.
§ Mr. LawsonThe arrangements will be the same as for the troops in Great Britain.
§ Colonel Stoddart-Scottasked the Secretary of State for War if he will consider extending the leave over Christmas of all men who are home on leave from the Middle East after a period of service of more than three years and four months in that theatre; and is he aware that men on repatriation leave have been granted these extra days.
§ Mr. LawsonThe arrangements already announced regarding extra leave for Christmas are the most beneficial that can be made in present circumstances, and I regret I cannot now include additional classes. I am aware that men who have completed their overseas tours are allowed extra leave, but those who are home on privilege leave must return to their units overseas as soon as that leave expires, if the leave and repatriation of others are not to be prejudiced.
