§ Major Gatesasked the Minister of War Transport whether, in view of the number of applications for licences to acquire new private motor-cars which are being rejected on the grounds that there are higher categories of need, he will circulate in the Official Report a detailed list of all such categories in their order of priority, with the number of licences which have so far been granted and refused in each case.
§ Mr. BarnesApart from the fact that individual circumstances vary widely, priority cannot be arranged in strict categories. In practice such professions and occupations as medicine and nursing, or housing and production for export receive preference.
