§ Miss WilkinsonThe following emergency training colleges are now in operation:
College. Men. Women. Northumberland, Alnwick Castle T.C. 114 — Warwickshire, Coventry, Exhall T.C — 217 Herts. Wall Hall T.C. — 92 Middlesex, Hampton T.C. — 196 London, Camden Town, Camden T.C. 208 — Walthamstow, Forest T.C. 69 62 Totals: 391 567 In addition, 85 men and one woman are following emergency courses at permanent training colleges.
§ Sir G. Foxasked the Minister of Education on how many occasions her requisitioning powers have been used for the purpose of acquiring suitable properties for use as emergency training colleges for teachers; and whether and where it is contemplated using these powers at present.
§ Miss WilkinsonI have not so far used requisitioning powers to obtain premises for any emergency training colleges. This matter has to be considered in relation to the circumstances of particular cases.
