§ Mr. Rentonasked the Minister of National Insurance to how much compensation the parents of a boy aged 19 years directed to the mines are entitled, in respect of the death of the boy, due to an accident which occurs in a colliery during and arising out of the employment.
§ Mr. LindgrenI regret that it is not possible to state a figure. The amount of compensation in such a case under the Workmen's Compensation Acts would be determined by various factors, including the extent to which the parents were dependent on the boy. If the boy left no dependents, the reasonable expenses of medical attendance and burial would be paid, within a maximum of £15.
