§ Dr. Littleasked the Secretary of State for War whether, in the interests of education and Christian work among young people, he will immediately derequisition public elementary schools and church halls in Northern Ireland which have been requisitioned for war purposes.
§ Mr. BellengerI hope to be able to release at least 50 per cent. of the small number of premises in question within the next two or three months.
Mr. B. Taylorasked the Secretary of State for War if he will consider the early derequisitioning of convalescent homes at Skegness, Hunstanton, Southport and Rhyl, in order to make accommodation available for miners in the Nottinghamshire coalfield, who, recovering from sickness and injury, are in need of convalescent treatment.
§ Mr. BellengerPerhaps my hon. Friend would let me have more detailed informa- 853W tion. A miners' home at Skegness is in process of being derequisitioned and there is one nursing home under requisition at Hunstanton, which it is planned to release by the end of the year. According to my information, no convalescent homes are held at Southport or Rhyl, but as I have indicated, if my hon. Friend has any particular properties in mind and will send me particulars, I will make further inquiries.
