HC Deb 23 August 1945 vol 413 c848W
Commander Marsden

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer if arrangements have now been completed with the French Government by which banks in France will be able to pay out to British subjects funds which they held on their account and which were seized by the Germans.

Mr. Dalton

I understand that the funds of British subjects resident in the United Kingdom which stood to their credit in French banks and were sized by the Germans have now been restored to their owners.
