HC Deb 23 August 1945 vol 413 c847W
Mr. Peter Freeman

asked the Minister of War Transport whether he is aware of the delay at the Aust-Beachley ferry over the Severn amounting frequently to over three hours; that only one ferryboat is working, although two have recently been built; and whether he will consider the desirability of taking over this ferry and running it in the public interest pending the erection of a bridge over the Severn at this point.

Mr. Barnes

I am making inquiries into this matter and will write to my hon. Friend as soon as possible.
