Mr. De la Bèreasked the Under-Secretary of State for Air whether, in view of the general release rate from the R.A.F, being slower than in the Army, he will give favourable consideration to steps being taken to adjust more equitably the releases from the R.A.F.
§ Mr. StracheyThe general rate of release from the Royal Air Force is well up to that of the Army. But as the House knows there are a few key trades where it has been necessary to slow down the rate of release because qualified men and women in these trades are in short supply. This is, however, a temporary phase. Every effort will be made to limit unevenness in the rate of release both as between trade and trade and as between the three Services.
