Mr. Driberģasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer if it is proposed to grant substantial increases in pay and allowances to Service men and women engaged in Far Eastern operations after the end of the war in Europe.
Sir J. GriģģI have been asked to reply. Additional pay known as Japanese campaign pay was introduced last autumn and details appeared in Command 6553. No further increases are contemplated.
