Viscount Castlereaggasked the Secretary of State for War if, in view of the fact that certain regiments of which he has been informed are being disbanded and converted into infantry, he will take steps immediately to demobilise all miners serving in such units.
§ Sir J. GriggThe reason for the disbandment of these units is not because the Army has ceased to need the personnel. I cannot therefore go beyond the provisions of the existing scheme for the release of soldiers for work in the mines in their case.
