§ Sir P. Hannonasked the Minister of Food if he will make a statement on the undertaking given by His Majesty's Government to purchase a minimum of 100,000,000 pounds of beef from the Dominion of Canada; the date of the contract; the quantity of beef already shipped to this country; and the terms and conditions of the contract.
§ Mr. MabaneA contract for the purchases of a quantity of beef from Canada has been under negotiation in Ottawa for some little time but has not yet been concluded. I am, therefore, not yet in a position to make the statement suggested.
