Mr. De la Hèreasked the Minister of Agriculture whether he has considered the memorandum that he has received from the Land Settlement Association in connection with ex-Service men and land settlement; and if he can now make a statement indicating the attitude of the Government to the suggestions and proposals contained in the memorandum for land settlement of ex-Service men and their post-war livelihood and the question of smallholdings.
Mr. HudsonI have received a memorandum from the Land Settlement Association which summarises their conclusions reached as a result of the experimental work done by the association during the past ten years. Full consideration will be given to the results of this experiment in formulating post-war policy. I have no statement to make at the present time.
