§ Mr. Manderasked the Secretary of State for Scotland the area of land publicly owned in Scotland in each of the years 1914, 1924, 1934 and on the latest date for which figures are available.
§ Mr. WestwoodI shall send to my hon. Friend as soon as possible a statement showing the area of land owned by the Secretary of State for Scotland in connection with the work of the Departments for which he is responsible. Information as to the area of land owned by local authorities in Scotland is not available, and my right hon. Friend does not think that in present circumstances he would be justified in asking for it to be compiled. Information about land owned by Government Departments other than those for which my right hon. Friend is responsible is a matter for the appropriate Minister.
