§ Mr. M. MacMillanasked the Secretary of State for Scotland what proposed hydro-electric power sources have been surveyed in the islands of the Outer Hebrides; and when it is proposed to begin constructional work there.
Mr. JohnstonI am informed that the North of Scotland Hydro-Electric Board are at present surveying the water power resources of the Outer Hebrides with a view to ascertaining how far they can be used for Hydro-Electric development. Until this survey has been completed it is impossible to say when a contructional scheme will be put forward.
