Major Lloyd GeorgeThe number of recorded stoppages due to industrial disputes in the South Wales and Monmouthshire coalfields from the commencement of the war to the end of October, 1944, was 514. It is estimated that approximately 890,000 tons of coal were lost by these stoppages.
