§ Mr. Sorensenasked the Secretary of State for India if he will consider setting up a Royal Commission to deal with the problem of alleged over-population and unexpanded economic resources in India.
§ Mr. AmeryAs regards the first part of the Question, I am consulting the Government of India. As regards the second part, a series of committees are sitting in India under the aegis of the Viceroy's Council, on the post-war development of India's economy. I am sending the hon. Member a copy of the recently published Second Report of the Reconstruction Committee of the Viceroy's Council which describes in detail what is being done about post-war development.
