§ Mr. HicksAs a result of consultation with the brick industry a scheme was introduced by Order (S.R. & O. 1942 No. 915) whereby brickworks which closed, either by agreement with the Minister or under the Control Order, receive contri-2134W butions towards their maintenance costs with the object of enabling them to resume production whenever required. It has recently been decided to extend this arrangement to cover all closed works. The brick industry will then be in a position to meet all post-war requirements.
