Friend's appreciation of the services rendered to the Allied cause by these officers, there are numerous other aliens who are giving notable assistance to the war effort of the United Nations both in the Armed Forces and in civilian occupations, and I know of no ground on which I would be justified in selecting for differential treatment the particular group of foreigners to whom the Question refers. The second part of the Question does not therefore arise.
