Miss Wardasked the Secretary of State for War whether he is aware that members of the A.T.S., discharged on compassionate grounds, who drew an allowance of £1 or £3 10s. for civilian clothing and are subsequently recalled for service, will be prevented from obtaining the new £12 allowance on discharge or demobilisation; and will he take steps to amend this position.
§ Sir J. GriggMy hon. Friend's suggestion involves a number of difficult problems and, moreover, affects all Service departments. She will appreciate, therefore, that I am not in a position to say whether it will be possible to change the existing rules.
