Morrison1,054 homes or institutions for children and young persons 969W are subject to inspection by officers of my Department; the number of boys and girls living in them is about 48,000 and their regular inspection is part of the normal duties of the Inspectors and Medical Inspectors of the Children's Branch of the Home Office, who are fully trained and experienced in this work.
