§ Mr. DaltonThe amalgamation of cotton mills into larger units has been recommended more than once by authoritative bodies as essential for the effective reorganisation of the industry. The desirability of promoting amalgamations, voluntarily or by compulsion is, therefore, among the post-war possibilities which I am now considering.
