BevinDuring 1943 the number of applications for postponement certificates and renewal of certificates granted by Military Service (Hardship) Committees in Scotland was 9,372, and the number rejected 3,355. Apart from these applications 8,154 were granted or renewed in Scotland without reference to a Committee.
