asked His Majesty's Government whether they are able to give the following statistics:

  1. 1. What is the total "main river" mileage in England and Wales?
  2. 2. What is the approximate mileage of watercourses controlled by internal drainage boards?
  3. 3. What is the approximate mileage under Section 14 of the Agricultural (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act, 1940, already submitted to the Minister for approval?
  4. 4. What is the approximate mileage of State-aided drainage schemes carried out by or on behalf of farmers under the Agricultural (Miscellaneous War Provisions) No. 2 Act, 1940?
  5. 5. What further mileage requires to be dealt with under the last two Acts mentioned?
