§ Sir T. Mooreasked the Minister of Supply if he can now make a statement regarding the post-war existence of the Royal Ordnance factories; and whether it is intended to retain them as part of our industrial life or whether it is intended to absorb them in privately owned organisations.
§ Mr. SandysA number of the Royal Ordnance factories will undoubtedly be required after the war to supply the continuing needs of the Services and to provide a reserve of manufacturing capacity available for use in an emergency. It is not possible, at present, to estimate how many factories are likely to be needed for these purposes.
