Williamsasked the President of the Board of Education if he will give an assurance that the dental and optical professions as well as the medical profession were consulted when framing Clause 46 of the Education Bill; and who are his medical, dental, optical and ophthalmic advisers respectively.
§ Mr. ButlerThe dental profession were not consulted before the Bill was introduced, but the terms of Clause 46 have subsequently been discussed with them. No consultation has taken place between my Department and representatives of the opticians. I have the advantage of being advised in these matters by the Chief Medical Officer of the Ministry of Health and Board of Education.
