§ Captain Pluggeasked the Lord President of the Council whether he is aware of the dissatisfaction caused by the fact that the Television Committee, recently appointed by him, is excessively representative of official interests and that progressive private enterprise has not been given a fair share in the investigation; and whether he will remedy this defect before the committee proceeds far with its work.
§ Mr. AttleeI had not heard of any dissatisfaction such as is suggested in the Question. As I said in reply to a question on 29th February, the Committee is primarily concerned with technical matters. It is in c lose touch with the industrial interests concerned. I am satisfied that its composition is suitable for the purpose of the present inquiry.
